The IGCSE programme is designed to encourage high academic standards through practical approach to teaching and learning. It was developed after extensive consultation with international educationalists and has been available since 1988. Since then CIE has extended and regularly updated the programme, and IGCSE attracts increasing numbers of schools and students every year. IGCSE is internationally recognized as being equivalent in standard to the British GCSE and International GCE O Level examinations.

The aims of IGCSE are:

-
to deliver a modern curriculum
-
to promote international understanding
-
to encourage good teaching practice
-
to provide rewarding experiences for students
-
to set widely recognised standards

Assessment:

IGCSE examination sessions occur twice a year*, in May/ June and November, with results issued in August and January respectively. As skills-based curriculum, IGCSE uses a wide range of assessment process and techniques to complement formal written examinations- orals, practicals, projects and coursework of various types are all used when they are the most effective and appropriate means of measuring attainment.
Oral assessment is optional in all first languages and compulsory in all foreign language. In most subjects, school-based coursework, set and marked by the teacher, form part of the assessment. However, only teachers who have received CIE, or possess suitable prior experience of marking coursework may carry out the assessment.
An eight-point scale of grades is used: A*, A, B, C, D, E ,F and G. Grade A* is awarded for the highest level of achievement, grade G indicates minimum satisfactory result

A-S Level

Cambridge Advanced Subsidiary: Age 16 plus (grade 12). At the completion of 12th grade, students will write Cambridge AS examinations also based on the choice of subjects by individual student. This segment of the Cambridge program syllabuses develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills. As such, our students have a choice of their subjects and the freedom to offer them in almost any combination. In other words, students can specialize or study a broad range of subjects.
